BOWIE, MD. (April 3, 2008) – Tanina Cook (Landover, MD/Charles H. Flowers) had three hits including a double as the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania softball team dropped two games to Bowie State University Thursday afternoon.
Cook also pitched both games for the Lady Lions, who fell to 0-16 on the season. Cook had one hit in the first game and two in the second game to raise her batting average to a team-leading .267. Cook leads Lincoln with eight hits and six stolen bases.
Sasha Evans (Hampton, VA/Phoebus) and Chanelle Harris (Yeadon, PA/Penn Wood) recorded stolen bases for Lincoln in the opening game.
In a game that was twice postponed, Bowie State scored 21 of its 23 runs in the first inning of each contest. Bowie State won the first game 11-0 (BOXSCORE) and the second 12-0 (BOXSCORE).
Lincoln returns to action when it hosts Saint Augustine's in its final home game Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader at the Oxford Athletic Association beginning at 2:00 p.m.
