Several first-place finishes highlight strong meet for Lincoln men's track

EWING, NJ (April 12, 2008) – Rushane Scott (/), Lance Wigfall (East Orange, NJ/East Orange Campus), Aaron Hunter (Sharon Hill, PA/Academy Park) and the 4 x 400-meter relay team were first-place finishers for the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's track and field team Saturday afternoon at The College of New Jersey Invitational.

 

Scott, Wigfall and Hunter led the way as Lincoln enjoyed several impressive performances a week after impressing in Florida. Overall, Lincoln had eight different student-athletes finish in the top five.

 

Scott won the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.79 seconds. Wigfall won the 400-meter dash in a strong time of 46.70 seconds. Meanwhile, Hunter won his third event in as many weeks during the outdoor season. Instead of winning the triple jump, Hunter soared to victory in the long jump. Later in the meet, Wigfall teamed with Randy Dawkins (Bronx, NY/Lehman), Todd Mason (San Diego, CA/) and Diedre Mcloud (Fort Lauderdale, FL/) to win the 4 x 400-meter relay in 3:15.93.

 

Other top finishers for the Lincoln men included Vincent Thomas (Columbia, PA/Columbia) finishing second in the 800-meter dash (1:56.24), and Davon Goldsborough (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) placing third in the 100-meter dash (10.90). While Wigfall won the 400, Dawkins (49.50) and Mason (49.60) were third and fourth, respectively. Alex Wright (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) was fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.24).

 

Lincoln returns to action Saturday afternoon when it competes in the Moravian Greyhound Classic in Bethlehem.
