Lincoln drops two games to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, PA. (March 25, 2008) -- Jasmine Baxter (Washington, D.C./McKinley Tech), Latoya Milstrey (Union, NJ/Union), Sherell Harwell (Deptford, NJ/Gloucester County Tech) and DeJuana Mosley (Chester, PA/Chester) all had hits for the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania softball team during a pair of losses to Millersville University Tuesday afternoon.

The host Marauders (10-9) bounced back from a pair of Monday defeats to York College by winning the first game, 44-1 (BOXSCORE) and the second game, 35-0 (BOXSCORE). Meanwhile, playing its first game in nine days, Lincoln fell to 0-12. This game marked the beginning of a busy week for Lincoln. The Lions will play six games all on the road over the next four days.

Mosley's single scored Milstrey, who led off the top of the fifth inning with a single. Harwell also followed with a single in the fifth inning as Lincoln got three of its four hits in the frame. In addition to singling in the opening game, Baxter also drew a walk and stole a base.

In the second game, Mosley led off the top of the second inning with a single for the Lions only hit of the game. Jordean Matthews (Pleasantville/Pleasantville, NJ) reached base in the same inning on a fielder's choice.

Lincoln returns to action Thursday afternoon when it travels to Bowie State University for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
