TAKOMA PARK, MD. (October 7, 2008) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team dropped a difficult 2-1 decision to host Columbia Union Tuesday evening. (BOXSCORE)

The Lady Lions were beaten when Columbia Union's Krista Byrd scored in the 89^th minute off of an assist Azizah Sy. After falling behind early, 1-0, in the 15^th minute on a Sy goal, sophomore Shaynita Blanchard (Portmore, Jamaica/Archbishop Carroll) (Portmore, Jamaica/Archbishop Carroll) tied the game in the 52^nd minute. Blanchard has eight goals on the season and 15 for her career.

Brittany Johnson (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) made five saves for Lincoln. Blanchard led Lincoln with six shots.

Lincoln returns to action Saturday morning when it travels to Nyack (NY) College for an 11:30 a.m. kickoff.
