LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — The Lincoln University (Pa.) women's soccer team combined a strong defensive effort with five saves from its goalkeepers to earn a 0–0 draw against Caldwell University Friday afternoon at LU Athletics Stadium.
Lincoln moves to 0–6–3 overall and 0–3–1 in CACC play, while Caldwell stands at 1–8–2 overall and 1–3–2 in the conference.
How it Happened
Nicole Lilja (Lanham, MD) started in goal and made one save during a scoreless first half.
Nevaeh Washington (Philadelphia, PA) took over after halftime, stopping four shots as Caldwell increased its attacking pressure. Together, the pair secured the shutout and helped Lincoln earn a point in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Lions limited Caldwell to two shots in the opening half. The Cougars finished with 10 shots, including five on goal, and six corner kicks, but Lincoln's defense held firm throughout the match.
Aleisa Clarke (Smyrna, DE) and
Kamaria Wright (Red Lion, PA) each played the full 90 minutes on the back line.
Breanna Steen (Bethel, CT) led Lincoln's attack with two shots, both on goal, forcing Caldwell goalkeeper Arianna Sullivan into a pair of second-half saves.
Briana Poullard (Elkton, MD) added a first-half attempt as the Lions finished with three shots.
