STATE COLLEGE, PA. (January 19, 2008) – Freshman Limile Hodges and senior Lance Wigfall (East Orange, NJ/East Orange Campus) were individual winners for the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's track and field team Saturday afternoon at the Penn State Open. (COMPLETE MEET RESULTS).
Hodges became the third different Lincoln athlete to win a long jump competition this year. Hodges joined Jared Randle (Kankakee, IL/Kankakee), who had a school record leap of 26 feet in the first meet of the season, and Andre Wilkinson (/), who won the long jump last week at Bucknell, as long jump kings. Hodges' best effort was 22 feet, 10 inches.
Wigfall was back on top of his game by winning the 400-meter dash in 48.26 seconds. Other strong individual efforts for Lincoln included sophomore Aaron Hunter (Sharon Hill, PA/Academy Park), who finished fourth in the long jump (22-5.75) and sixth in the triple jump (47-11/2). Sophomore Anthony Bishop (Philadelphia, PA/Martin Luther King) was seventh in the 60-meter dash (7.07 seconds) and junior Randy Dawkins (Bronx, NY/Lehman) finished ninth in the 400-meter dash (49.94).
The Lions' 4 x 400-meter relay team of Dawkins, Wigfall, Davon Goldsborough (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) and Diedre Mcloud (Fort Lauderdale, FL/) turned in a solid performance by finishing fifth (3:18.22) behind Seton Hall, Penn State, Morgan State and Rutgers.
