   Charisse Colston had a week to remember for the softball team. She became the first Lincoln softball player to hit for the cycle during the second game of a doubleheader at Gallaudet last Wednesday. Of course, the cycle actually took a backseat to Lincoln winning its first softball game in program history, 9-6 against Gallaudet, in the opener. Colston had a double and triple in that game. The Lady Lions, a second-year NCAA program, went 0-20 last year.

    In the second game, Colston singled in the first inning, homered in the second, doubled in the third, tripled in the fourth and doubled in the fifth inning. In addition, Colston scored five runs, drove in three runs and stole three bases against the Bison. Colston probably took the cycle in stride because she accomplished the rare feat in high school.

    Through six games, Colston has sizzled for the Lady Lions, reaching base in 15 of her 21 plate appearances. Colston leads Lincoln in hits (13), RBIs (12), batting average (.769) and runs scored (12) through four games. She had a streak of reaching base safely in 10 straight plate appearances end when she hit into a fielders choice in fifth inning of the second game at Philadelphia. Lincoln is 2-4 overall.
