Josh Dean serves as the Director of Athletics and Recreational Services at Lincoln University (PA), where he oversees the department's 13 varsity sports programs while leading the continued growth and development of Lincoln Athletics. Prior to his appointment as Director of Athletics, Dean served as the University's Deputy Director of Athletics and Recreational Services, helping guide departmental operations, strategic planning, and student-athlete success initiatives.
Before transitioning into athletics administration, Dean served as head coach of the Lincoln University football program, where he made a significant impact both on and off the field. During his tenure, he helped establish a strong foundation for the program while mentoring student-athletes and coaching the Lions' first all-region performer since 2012.
Prior to Lincoln, Dean served as the defensive line coach at Campbellsville University, helping lead the Tigers to an 8-2 record and a national ranking in the NAIA Top 25. He also served as head coach at Kentucky State University, where his teams earned national recognition in several defensive categories while emphasizing academic achievement and personal development. Earlier in his coaching career, Dean worked at Fort Valley State University, helping develop student-athletes who went on to professional careers in the NFL and AFL.
A former professional linebacker, Dean played with the Chicago Bears and the Cologne Centurions of NFL Europe. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fort Valley State University and a Master of Sports Science in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy.
