James E. Battle III is entering his second year at Lincoln University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications & Marketing. He brings a strong background in sports communications and digital media, with a focus on innovative fan engagement and content creation.
Battle previously served as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Hiram College from 2022 to 2024. During his time at Hiram, he played a key role in expanding the athletics department’s social media following by 2,000 followers, growing the total to 3,000, and led a team of graphic designers and video editors. He was also responsible for creating new initiatives, including the popular "Terrier of the Week" segment, which gained significant attention among students.
Battle earned a Bachelor’s degree in Television and Digital Media, concentrating in Sports Journalism, from Montclair State University in 2021. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Athletic Communications, from Hiram College in 2024.
As he enters his second year at Lincoln University, Battle is excited to continue expanding the reach of Lincoln Athletics and contribute to the continued success of the program.
