Former Lincoln University women’s basketball player Cherelle Dennis joined the coaching staff as an assistant women's basketball and recruiting coordinator coach under Head Coach Darrell Mosley in the summer of 2017.
Dennis brings over ten years of coaching experience to the program. She comes to the Lions after three seasons at Newark Charter High School in Delaware. She coached as an assistant for two seasons at Newark Charter starting in 2013 before being named the head coach for the 2015-16 season.
Prior to coaching at Newark Charter, Dennis served as an assistant coach at Appoquinimink High School from 2007-2012. During Coach Dennis' tenure at Appoquinimink, she helped lead the program to back to back conference titles and to the school’s first final four appearance in 2012.
As the recruiting coordinator, she was responsible for identifying talent and arranging campus visits. Her eye for talent helped bring All-American Kwanza Murray to campus.
Dennis was part of the 2005-2006 Lincoln University women’s basketball program after playing two seasons at Cecil Community College. After her collegiate career concluded she was part of the Delaware Destroyers of the WEBA from 2007-2009.
Dennis is also the co-founder of Ball Til U Fall (BTUF) travel basketball program based out of Delaware/Florida area.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Lincoln University in 2007 and a Masters of Education degree in School Leadership from Wilmington University in 2010.
