SMYRNA, Del. – The Lincoln University (Pa.) men's and women's cross country teams each recorded fifth-place finishes Friday afternoon at the DSU Sting Invitational, hosted by Delaware State University.

Both races were contested at the 5K distance.

The Lincoln women finished fifth in the six-team field with 105 points, ending just one point behind fourth-place Bowie State. Delaware State captured the women's team title with 16 points, followed by Morgan State with 63 and Coppin State with 98.

Junior Madison Morgan (Piscataway, NJ) led the Lions, placing 14th overall with a time of 22:45.5. Senior Miranda Mclean (Somerset, NJ) followed closely in 15th place, crossing the finish line in 22:56.4.

Junior Isabella Wright (Bear, DE) finished 23rd in 24:30.7, while senior Aniya Whitfield placed 28th with a time of 25:28.9. Sophomore Eternity Bellamy (Harrisburg, PA) completed Lincoln's scoring lineup by finishing 33rd in 26:10.0.

On the men's side, Lincoln placed fifth among seven teams with 143 points. Delaware State won the men's team championship with 22 points, while Coppin State finished second with 47 and Morgan State placed third with 85.

Junior Thomas Jones (Washington, DC) Jr. paced the Lions with a 19th-place finish, completing the course in 17:58.1. Sophomore Eric Brown was Lincoln's second finisher, placing 23rd in 18:23.3.

Junior Lamine Kane (Baltimore, MD) crossed the line in 33rd place with a time of 19:08.1, followed closely by freshman Semaj Stone, who finished 34th in 19:10.0.

Senior Adam Green recorded a time of 21:49.8 to finish 40th, while junior Kelvin Coley (Brooklyn, NY) rounded out Lincoln's competitors in 41st place with a time of 21:53.6.
