In Glenn Butler Jr's first ever appearance at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the long jump event, he set a school record. Butler recorded a jump of 7.91m (25'11½ ") on his third attempt in the long jump on May 25. Over the duration of the long jump event,
Glenn Butler, Jr. set personal bests in four of his six attempts (his final attempt resulted in a foul). His respective jump marks were: 7.27m, 7.68m, 7.91, 7.76 and 7.89 (tailwind: 2.1). With his podium finish, Butler now receives All-American recognition for the long jump.

Roland Whiting expressed how proud he was of Butler's performance. "Glenn is a true competitor and ultimate performer. It's exciting to see him compete at his highest level here on the highest stage at the National Championship."
The previous Lincoln University long jump record of 7.72 meters was held by Lincoln University Hall of Famer (Class of 2020) Thomas Thompson. Thompson graduated with the class of 1999 and was a five-time NCAA National Champion. A highly decorated Lincoln Track & Field athlete, Thompson also earned All-American status 21 times during his career. Butler will look to continue his All-American ways on Saturday, when he competes for the National Championship in the high jump.
