LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's track & field program's brightest superstar has done it again, as
Glenn Butler, Jr. (Greenburgh, N.Y./White Plains) has won the conference's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year in back-to-back seasons.
Â
Butler, a senior from Greenburgh, New York, was voted CIAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Week twice during the campaign, placing in the high and long jump multiple times, capped off by a double gold medal showing at the Indoor Championships.
Â
The former SUNY-Delhi transfer was also awarded the CIAA Championship's Field MVP while being the only student-athlete in the league to qualify for the NCAA provisional in the high jump (2.14m, PR) as well as being one of two (Jocolbi Morgan of Claflin) to make the cut in the long jump (7.60m).
Â
An alumnus of White Plains High School, he led the Atlantic Region in both events plus the jumps specialist ranked fifth and sixth among all NCAA Division II athletes for his long and high jumps, respectively.
Â
Butler and the track & field program will now travel to SEC country for the USC Indoor Open hosted by the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia on Friday.
