BLOOMFIELD, N.J. (December 9, 2023)- The Lincoln University women's basketball defeated the Bloomfield College Bears in an overtime matchup. The Lions secured the 55-52 road win on Saturday afternoon.

FIRST HALF
- Despite Bloomfield securing the first 2 baskets of the contest, the Lions worked together to get on the board.
- Toggling for the lead, LU took advantage of their foul shots to hold their lead over the Bears.
- In the final minute of the 1st quarter, the score was tied 12-all, where it would remain as they prepared for the 2nd quarter.
- The battle for control continued as each teamed was evenly matched with good shots, turnovers and missed baskets.
- Lincoln dominated the final 90secs of the half, entering the locker room with a 25-21 lead at halftime.
SECOND HALF
- The 3rd and 4th quarters were identical, as the back-and-forth battle continued with each possession intensifying the atmosphere in the gym.
- In the 3rd quarter, the Lions gained a boost in the final seconds to tie the score, 33-33.
- Lincoln controlled the 4th quarter, as they prepared to take their road victory.
- With seconds remaining, Bloomfield bounced backed, closed the scoring gap and tied the game.
- At the end of regulation, the Lions and Bears were evenly matched, 47-all.
- LU had a mix of strategy and encouragement guiding them through overtime.
- Ciani Montgomery (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic Prep) carried with Lions, grasping 6 of their 8 overtime points.
- Despite missed baskets by both teams in the final seconds, the Lions had already sealed the deal, securing their 55-52 overtime win against the Bloomfield Bears.
LION LEADERS
- Leading the Lions with 11 points was Isis Triplett (Orlando, Fl./West Oaks Academy).
- Also scoring in double digits were D'Ayzha Atkinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) (10 points) and Riley Holliday (Baltimore, MD) (10 points).
- Aynssa Fields secured 10 rebounds for the LU, while Fields and Jaleesa Lanier (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) each snatched 4 steals.
