HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both teams started the contest early displaying their offensive and defensive skills.
  • The Lions went on an early run to take the lead, until the Bulldogs tied the score 8-all.
  • Managing to pull away by capitalizing off of Bulldog attack errors, LU took set 1, 25-18.
  • Sets 2 and 3 had similarities, as Lincoln worked to control the court, but Bowie State found energy in their home court advantage.
  • With a score of 25-17 and 25-13, sets 2 and 3 ruled in favor of BSU.
  • The Lions bounced back in set 4, going on 6-0 run to take 14-8 lead.
  • Attempting to reclaim dominance, the Bulldogs unsuccessfully tried to close the scoring gap.
  • LU stayed a few plays ahead of the home team to eventually give the Lions the 25-22 set 4 victory.
  • Despite the score tying 5 times in the final set, the true drive was the Lions going on a 9-0 run to bring the score up, 14-all.
  • Each play mattered as not only was the set, but the match was on the line.
  • Although LU fought hard to rally back, BSU took the set, 17-15, and the overall win.
  • While the final score was not in favor of Lincoln, the team's ability to rally back during a critical point in the matchup shows true determination.
