11/28/2023 12:05:00 PM

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 28, 2023) -- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) is excited to announce that it has accepted Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) as an associate member in the sports of women's soccer and baseball, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The Lions will begin conference play in the two sports in the 2024-25 athletic season, and they will become the 13th conference member in both sports.

"We are excited to welcome Lincoln University as an associate member to the CACC," Mara said. "Lincoln's institutional mission and values align with those of the CACC. The conference has had tremendous success recently in both women's soccer and baseball, and we believe Lincoln will help to enhance the profile of the sports through its membership. We look forward to providing an exceptional experience for Lincoln's student-athletes competing in the CACC."

"We are truly excited to embark on this new opportunity with the Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC)," said Lincoln's Interim Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Director of Athletics, Harry Stinson, III. "This is not just a change of competition; it's a commitment to growth, a testament to "The Lion Way" resilience, and an opportunity to redefine our limits. The CACC's commitment to academic and athletic achievement is a common thread we both share.  In this ever-changing landscape of athletics, it requires you to look at ways to be fiscally responsible, align your institution with regionally based opponents and to look at the opportunities for elite level competition. The CACC provides us with all of those elements! As we step onto this new playing field with new competitors, we are ready to create a legacy within the CACC conference. Our entrance is not just a move; it's a statement — a declaration that we are ready to compete, evolve, and leave an indelible mark on the CACC, Division II and to this region."

Each of the 13 women's soccer programs in the CACC will play a single round-robin format in conference play during the 2024 season, with the top eight teams in the standings following the regular season will qualify for the conference's post-season tournament. Baseball will feature a two-division format during the 2025 regular season with Lincoln serving as a South Division-school in the league setup. The conference champion in each sport will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournaments.
