The Lincoln University women's soccer team opened East Coast Conference action Sunday, falling to Roberts Wesleyan, 7-0, inside the Lincoln University Athletics Stadium.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- For nearly 25 minutes, Lincoln's defensive strategy befuddled the prolific Redhawks offensive attack. The Lions packed the defensive zone and forced Roberts Wesleyan to play in a compacted space.
- The strategy limited Lincoln's offense as the Lions didn't manufacture a single shot.
- Roberts Wesleyan finished with 31 shots, 17 of which were on goal. The Redhawks had 17 shots in the first half and 14 in the second.
- The Redhawks finished with just two goals in the first half, and then found the back of the net five times in the second half.
- Sophomore Dominique Duvil (Long Island, N.Y./The Mary Louis Academy) recorded 10 saves.
