RALEIGH, N.C. – The Lincoln University volleyball team dropped their first match of the three-match Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association volleyball round-up, losing to Johnson C. Smith in straight sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-14).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lincoln recorded a positive hitting percentage in all three sets.
- Haley Loper (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Technical) finished with a team-high nine kills on a team-high 25 attempts. She added two solo blocks and four block assists and a dig.
- Junior Erica Taylor (Romulus, MI/Romulus Summit Academy) contributed seven kills on 17 attempts and just one error (.353 hitting percentage). She finished tied for the team lead with three service aces.
- Sophomore Jaida Lumpkin (Middletown, Del./Middletown) led the team with 13 assists with two service aces.
- Sophomore Mariah Webster (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech/) had a team-best 13 digs.

- Lincoln concludes the CIAA Round-up, playing Saint Augustine's 9 a.m. Sunday and Winston-Salem State 1 p.m. Sunday.
