WILMINGTON, DEL. - The Lincoln University volleyball battled tough through two sets, but ultimately fell in straight sets (25-19, 25-19, 25-10) to Goldey-Beacom in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first set was tied at nine, but the Lightning gradually pulled away to secure the win. This was Lincoln's best statistical set as the Lions recorded 10 of their 19 kills in the opening set.
• Lincoln hit .062 in the set with 10 kills on 32 attempts and eight errors.
• Following back-to-back attack errors, Lincoln held a two-point lead (12-10) in the second set. However, GBC answered by scoring nine of the next 10 points and eventually secured the victory.
• Goldey-Beacom pounced early and didn't let up in the third set en route to the 25-10 win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Lincoln finished with 19 kills on 71 attacks and 19 errors for a .000 hitting percentage.
• Freshman Haley Loper (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Technical) (Middletown, Del.) tallied a career-high eight kills on 17 attempts with just four errors. The .235 hitting percentage was also an early-career high.
• Junior Kaiya Lewis (Queens, N.Y./Queens Preparatory Academy) (Queens, N.Y.) made the most of her seven attempts, recording five kills with just one error.
• Freshman Jaida Lumpkin (Middletown, Del./Middletown) (Middletown, Del.) led the team with 10 assists, three aces, and nine digs.
• Freshman Mariah Webster (Detroit, Mich. ) (Detroit, Mich.) also recorded nine digs.
