COLLEGEVILLE – The Lincoln University men's indoor track and field team continued their trek toward the indoor conference championships by competing in the Bow Tie Invitational, hosted by Ursinus College.

The Lions picked up a pair of event victories as freshman Jordan Hall (Randallstown, Md./Newtown) won the 60-meter hurdles (8.56 seconds) and freshman Jameel Hoyes (Atlanta, Ga./Veterans) won the 400-meter dash in 52.41.

As Hoyes won the 400, three of the next four spots were also Lions. Sophomore Spencer Seide (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) finished second (52.62), freshman Clayton McLaren (Brockton, Mass./Brimmer and May) was third (52.93) and freshman Lamar Clanton (Wyncote, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) cross the line in fifth (54.37).

Lincoln had three of the first five placers, and four of the top eight, in the 60-meter dash. Freshman Jude Butumbi (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) placed second in 7.11 seconds, while junior Dominic George (Wyncote, Pa./Cheltenham) was third (7.15 seconds). Sophomore Obinna Ihejirinka finished eighth with a time of 7.34 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team of Hall, Butumbi, George, and Hoyes placed second.

Junior Christopher Brown (New Castle, Del./William Penn) was the lone men's athlete to participate in field events, finishing fourth in the shot put with a distance of 12.77 meters.

Lincoln will be off for a month before returning to action at the HBCU Battle on January 15 at the Armory Track and Field Center.
