Tierra Russaw (Westland, Mich. /Summit Academy) broke five school records and tied another while the Lincoln University women's softball team set three more, including the most runs scored in a single game as they completed a doubleheader sweep of Trinity Washington University Thursday afternoon at the LU softball complex, defeating the Tigers 26-0 and 23-0.

The Lions improve to 4-28 while the Tigers fall to 0-14. Both games invoked softball's eight-run rule and ended after five innings.
Lincoln's 26 runs scored in the opener, eclipses the previous school record of 23 set earlier this season vs. Paine College. The Lions stole a total of 19 bases in the game, breaking the old school record of 17. Lincoln added 17 more steal in game two for a total of 36 in the doubleheader. Lincoln's three triples in game two tie the school's single game record.Â
In the opener, Russaw had four hits and a school record eight RBI. Russaw also stole six bases in six attempts, both Lincoln single game records.  Four of those six stolen bases came in the first inning alone when the Lions scored ten times and sent 14 batters to the plate. Russaw eclipsed the single season mark for stolen bases with her fourth stolen base in the first inning and her 21
st swipe of the season.

Russaw went 5-for-5 in the second game, tying the school single game hits record and bringing her season total to 32, eclipsing the school's single season mark. She added three more steals to bring her record setting stolen base total to 26.

For the afternoon Russaw was a perfect 9-for-9 from the plate with a triple in game one and a two-run inside the park home run in the second. She scored ten times, stole nine bases and had 12 RBI.

Jemiah Groce (Newark, Del. /Christiana) earned the win in the opener and set a school record with two triples in game two. Groce also drew four walks in the first game, tying the Lincoln single game record. In the circle she allowed just one hit while walking two and striking out seven. Playing first base in game two, Groce went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and four runs scored. She finished the doubleheader with a total of six stolen bases.

Kyleigh Norwood (Falls Church, Va. /Fairmont Heights) earned the win in game two, also allowing just one hit and striking out seven. Norwood also drove in five runs with two hits.

The Lions honored their lone senior
Ny'air Best (Burlington, N.J. /Burlington City) in between games of the doubleheader. Best, an outfielder, had a single and an RBI in the opener and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in game two. Best also had three stolen bases on the afternoon, one in the opener, and two in game two.

DeeDee Irwin (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) went 4-for-4 with a triple, three stolen bases and five RBI in the opener and followed with a 2-for-3 performance with two walks and a triple in the game two. Irwin also made her collegiate catching debut in game two, receiving the pitches from Norwood in the final two innings of action.

Selena Mulet (Baltimore, Md. /Catholic HS of Baltimore), Lincoln's regular catcher during the season, had three hits, four stolen bases and three RBI in the first game and added two hits, four runs scored, four more steals and two RBI in game two.

Every Lincoln player that took the field for the two games recorded at least one hit on the afternoon.Â
Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J. /Barnegat) had three hits and two stolen bases in game two and had a stolen base in the opener.Â
Lena Rodriguez (Lockport, Ill. /Joliet Catholic Academy) had two hits and two RBI in game one while
Jadaisha McNeal (Wyandanch, N.Y./Wyandanch) drove in a run with a single in the opener.Â
Fifia Waithe (Bronx, N.Y. /Life Sciences Secondary) scored three times in game one and had one hit.

Quadira Daniels (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz Mastery Charter) scored twice in the opener and went 1-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in the nightcap.
Mikhi Wright (Philadelphia, Pa./Phila. HS for Girls) added a single and an RBI in game two.

The Lions scheduled doubleheader on Friday at Trinity Washington has been postponed due to impending severe weather in the Washington, D.C. area. A makeup date has not been announced.
