The Lincoln University women's basketball team placed four players in double figures and held off a late rally by Saint Augustine's to get back in the win column with a 58-50 triumph Saturday afternoon at Emery Gymnasium in Raleigh, north Carolina.
The Lions improve to 8-9 overall and 2-4 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association games. The Falcons fall to 3-11 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Kwanza Murray (Summerville, S.C./Summerville (Lackawanna College)) led Lincoln's four player in double figure scoring with 18 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3FG).Â
DeAshia Young (Detroit, Mich./Detroit Public Safety Academy (Labette CC)) recorded a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.Â
Jamari Tillman (Louisville, Ky./Doss) made a career-high four three-pointers and finished with 12 points while
Alisia Machado (Brooklyn, N.Y./Medgar Evars Prep (Grambling)) chipped in 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
It was Machado's basket late in the fourth quarter that put the brakes on the Falcons rally, giving the Lions a 55-50 lead.   Young and Murray then sank free throws to complete the scoring.
The Lions jumped out to a 27-9 lead in the first quarter on the strength of Tillman's and Murray's outside shooting as both players sank three three point field goals in the period.  The Falcons opened the second quarter with an 11-2 run to close within nine 29-20 before Tillman's fourth three-ball of the game pushed the lead back to 12 with 4:05 left in the quarter. The Falcons shaved three points off the lead as the half wound down and the Lions took a 34-25 into the locker room at the half.
Young's traditional three-point play  gave the Lions a 13-point cushion 41-28 with 5:27 left in the third quarter  before a 7-2 run by the Falcons cut the lead to eight. Machado followed with a layup off a sweet pass from Tillman and was fouled. She completed the three-point play  and Murray followed with  a steal and a fast break layup to again put the Lions up by 13, 48-35 with 3:04 remaining. Â
The Falcons got consecutive three-point baskets from Kamya Renwicks and Kelsee Arnold to start a 10-4 run to close out the third quarter and cut the Lions lead to seven 52-47.
Shankia Clark opened the scoring in the fourth quarter with a layup+one and later added two more free throws to extend the Falcon run to 15-5 and close the gap to three 53-50 before the Lions defense shut the door.
Clark finished with a double-double (12 rebounds, 10 points) for the Falcons while Renwicks led SAU with 17 points.
The Lions will conclude their three game North Carolina road trip on Monday with a game against Shaw University. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
