Lincoln Preview:

Lincoln's offense produced a season high nine shots and four shots on goal in Saturday's 7-1 loss to Queens College.  The match was the Lions' first ever East Coast Conference match as the program was an independent from its formation in 2002 until last season.

The result however was the same as the Lions defense allowed seven goals en route to the loss.   Lincoln is 0-5 on the season after the loss and entering into Wednesday's contest.

Senior Diana Martinez (Kissimmee, Fla./St. Cloud) leads the team with two goals and an assist in the team's last three games after missing Lincoln's first two contests.   Martinez had unassisted goals in Saturday's loss and in a loss to Salem University on 9/8.  She also added an assist in the loss to Chestnut Hill on 9/5.

Freshman Kenya Davis (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo) scored Lincoln's first goal of the season in the loss to Chestnut Hill putting the ball in the net after Martinez's shot on goal was deflected by the CHC goalie and came right to her for the put back.

Junior goalkeeper Lena Rodriguez (Lockport, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy)  recorded a career high 16 saves against Chestnut Hill and added 15 apiece against Salem and Queens.  Rodriguez leads the ECC in total saves with 50 and ranks fourth nationally.  She is sixth nationally in saves/game, averaging 10.00.  That mark is the second highest total in the conference.

As a team the Lions lead the league in saves/game, averaging 13.80.  This number is the second highest total in all of Division II women's soccer.

Roberts Wesleyan Preview

The Redhawks dropped both of their contests last week, falling to Urbana 2-1 and dropping their ECC opener to NYIT 2-0.  Prior to the two losses the Redhawks played College of St. Rose and Post University to scoreless ties.   Roberts Wesleyan's only win was a 4-0 effort over Chestnut Hill on 9/1.

Against NYIT, the Redhawks were outshot 15-3 as the Bears scored twice late in the game to take home the win.  Kelsey Brinkel had five saves in goal.

Tiffany Melendez leads the Redhawks with one goal and one assist for three points.  She is one of five different players to score a goal this season, tallying the only goal in the Redhawks loss to Urbana on 9/12.

Defensively, the Redhawks have given up just six goals in their six games.  Brinkel has started all six games and has 17 total saves  and a 1.14 goals against average.
