 Lincoln Preview:

Lincoln's losing streak extended to a program high 12 games with Saturday's loss to Molloy.  The ten goals scored by Molloy were a season-high allowed by Lincoln.

Senior Diana Martinez (Kissimmee, Fla./St. Cloud) scored the Lions only goal in the both of the Lions' games last week (Chowan and Molloy).  She leads the team with four goals and an assist. Martinez also had unassisted goals in the loss to Queens College and in a loss to Salem University on 9/8.  She also added an assist in the loss to Chestnut Hill on 9/5.

Earlier last week, the Lions, statistically speaking, had one of their best games of the season in their 6-1 loss to Chowan on 9/27.  The team recorded a season-high 12 total shots and 11 shots on goal.   Lincoln also produced more corner kicks than their opponent for the first time this season.

Freshman goalkeeper Megan Dakwa (Gaithersburg, Md./Watkins Mill) made her season debut against Chowan, recording 11 saves.  Fellow freshman Sarata Bello (Sagamu, Nigeria/Remo Methodist) notched five shots on goal – the most by a Lincoln player in a game this season.

Junior goalkeeper Lena Rodriguez (Lockport, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) recorded a career high 17 saves against NYIT and currently leads the East Coast conference with 79 totals saves, averaging 11.29 per game.   She ranks fifth nationally in total saves and second nationally in saves/game. Rodriguez also became the second goalkeeper in program history to record 300 or more saves, reaching the mark early in the first half against the Bears.

Freshman Kenya Davis (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo) scored Lincoln's first goal of the season in the loss to Chestnut Hill putting the ball in the net after Martinez's shot on goal was deflected by the CHC goalie and came right to her for the put back.

As a team the Lions lead the league in saves/game, averaging 13.33.  This number is the second highest total in all of Division II women's soccer.

Bridgeport Preview

The Purple Knights played at #19 Adelphi earlier this week and came away with a 2-2 tie against the nationally ranked Panthers. Nara DeCosta scored a pair of first period goals to give Bridgeport a 2-0 lead before Adelphi rallied in the second half to tie the game.

DeCosta currently leads the Purple Knights with five goals and ten points.  Maegen Doyle has four goals, including three game winners

Bridgeport has a perfect 3-0 record at home this season and is seeking their first win on the road, recording an 0-2-1 mark in away contests.  The Purple Knights are also 1-1 in neutral site matches.

Conference-wise, the Purple Knights opened ECC play with a win over nationally ranked LIU-Post (Lincoln's next opponent after tonight's game), 2-1.  DeCosta and Doyle scored late in the second period, erasing a 1-0 Post lead enroute to the win.

Bridgeport lost to #8 Mercy College 2-1 and defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas 2-1 in their other  two conference matches.

In addition to playing nationally ranked conference opponents LIU-Post and Mercy and non-conference opponent Adelphi, the Purple knights also played at #3 Grand Valley State, losing 6-0.
