Bowie State University softball swept a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIAA) doubleheader from Lincoln University on Sunday, defeating the Lions 23-0 and 8-0.

The Lions fall to 4-18 overall, 1-10 in CIAA games and 0-6 in the North division. With the victories the Bulldogs improve to 12-12 overall, 9-1 in the CIAA and 4-0 in the North.
BSU's Stefanie Ray earned both wins while tossing a perfect game in game two. Â
Alexis Harrod (Kiribati, South Korea/Seoul American HS) took both losses for Lincoln.

Tierra Russaw (Westland, Mich./Summit Academy) had the Lions lone hit on the afternoon, a single in the second inning of the opener. Harrod was the only other Lincoln player to reach base, drawing a walk in the fourth inning.

Ray struck out 13 batters in each of the two games while walking only one as she improves to 9-5 on the season.Â

Iyana Jones drove in seven runs for the Bulldogs in the opener as she hit for the cycle with a single and a three run home run in the first inning, an RBI double in the third, and a two-RBI triple in the fourth.  Jaelyn Belt also belted a three run home run for the Bulldogs.

Jones drove in three more runs in game two on a double and a single to finish the afternoon with six hits and ten RBI. Â Â Ja'seph Smith also had six hits over the two games for the Bulldogs.

Lincoln returns to action on April 17, 2017 when they travel to play Trinity College for a non conference doubleheader. The Lions will conclude their season with home doubleheaders against Chowan University on April 22 and Elizabeth City State University on April 23.
