Lincoln's football program is making moves and planning to make a statement in the coming 2016 season. The head coach Herb Pickens has finished signing his recruiting class and is confident the team will make even bigger strides i.e., more wins than any Lincoln team before. Pickens and his assistants have carefully chosen student athletes "who according to the coach have character and a never give up attitude". Putting together a football team is like a solving a puzzle. A coach recruits each member of the team to play a clearly defined role that fits into an offensive and defensive plan based on the coach's philosophy. Some coaches base their plays and game plans strictly on the student athletes they have and are able to recruit. There are coaches who take a different route and design their game plans on a strict adherence to the run, the option or an all-out aerial attack. There are many ways to slice it and a 1000 ways to analyze it. The bottom line is, you can't win if you don't have the right players playing the game the correct way. Coach Pickens believes he has found the "right players" for the Lincoln Lions football team.
The new Lions come from across the country. They will arrive to the campus in Oxford, Pennsylvania from as far west as California and as far south as Florida. The coaching staff left no stone unturned in finding the correct pieces to the aforementioned puzzle. The new Lions of the gridiron are:
