Scouting the Virginia State Lady Trojans
The second seed out of the CIAA Northern Division Lady Trojans had a pair make the All-CIAA Women's Basketball team. Seniors Da'shae Jones and Tiffany Adair made the slate for All-Conference honorees. Jones ranks fifth in the CIAA in scoring (15.3) and assists (104) while leading the conference in three-point percentage (42.0). Adair led the CIAA in field goal percentage (59.4) and was sixth in rebounds per game (8.7). In the semifinals, Dashae Jones scored 17 points and led four Lady Trojans scorers in double figures, as the Lady Trojans pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent history of the CIAA tournament with a crushing 69-47 win over four time defending champion, Shaw University.

The Lincoln vs. Virginia State Series
Virginia State leads the overall series with the Lady Lions 13-2 with this being their first ever meeting at the CIAA Basketball Tournament or neutral site. The teams split this season's series with both teams winning on the road in CIAA Northern Divisional action. Jessica Kern's Lady Lions are 2-6 vs. Virginia State since the 2011-12 season. In the Kern era, Lincoln is 1-3 in games played at Virginia State and 1-3 at home. In her first season, Kern downed the Lady Trojans at home 69-67. In their last meeting in Lincoln University, a pair of Lady Lions tied career-highs with solid performances. Junior  Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) tied a career-best defensively with six steals and sophomore De'jah Taylor (Nanuet, NY/Paramus Catholic Regional) tied a career-best grabbing ten rebounds.
 
Lincoln vs. CIAA
Lincoln is in its fifth season as a member of the CIAA Conference in 2014-15. The Lady Lions own an overall record of 27-58 in CIAA play. Jessica Kern has coached the Lady Lions since their second year of transitioning to Division II and has an overall mark of 50-63 while coaching the Lady Lions.
 
Lady Lions in the CIAA
 
Senior forward Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) was selected to her second straight All-CIAA Women's Basketball Team in 2014-15. Pam led the Lady Lions during the season in points per game (11.9), rebounding average (8.4), and in free-throws made (85). She led her team in scoring nine times, had seven double-doubles, and was the top rebounder in 15 games.Zephrah reached double figure scoring in 15 games and notched 20+ point performances three times. Against Fayetteville State, Pam scored a season-high 24 points and then posted a season-best 16 rebounds against Johnson C. Smith. Amongst the CIAA, she is fifth in total rebounds and eighth in free-throws.
 
Freshman guard/forward Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) made the 2014-15 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Rookie Team. Pendleton averaged 7.6 points per game in 12 starts for the Lady Lions during the regular season. She scored a season-high 17 points against Alderson-Broaddus and had seven rebounds against Wilmington. She was named CIAA Player of the Week twice, had eight double-digit performances, and was LU's top scorer in three games.
 
Kern Named 2015 CIAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Year
Head women's basketball coach at The Lincoln University, Jessica Kern was named the 2015 CIAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Year on Monday, February 23, 2015. Coach Kern led her team to a regular season record of 19-7 and a share of the Northern Division title. Last year the Lady Lions finished sixth in the division but entered this year's tournament as the number one seed in the North. During the season, she was voted CIAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Week on two occasions and is guiding the 2014-15 Lady Lions to a record setting season with the most wins in program history.

Lady Lions Historic Season Continues
In addition to reaching their first ever CIAA Women's Basketball Championship game the Lady Lions also set a new school record in 2014-15 exceeding the 2006-07 squad that went 19-8. Lincoln won their 20th game of the season in the quarterfinal round against Virginia Union.
