LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS)'s game-high 19 points with a career-best 15 rebounds propelled the Lady Lions to a victory over Cheyney University 65-53 in Manuel Rivero Hall. Two other Lady Lions netted double figures with 12 points each;
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) and
Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute).
Sophomore guard
Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) shot the ball well in the first half connecting on 5-of-6 attempts from the field tallying ten points. The Lady Lions excelled in the second quarter holding the Lady Wolves to eight points and exploding for 21. LU carried a 36-21 lead into halftime shooting 42% from the field. Cheyney struggled going 7-for-31 (22%) from the field but nailed three shots from long range in the first quarter.
Cheyney came out in the third period and held Lincoln to only two made shots. The Lady Wolves went on a 20-7 run throughout the quarter bringing the score to 43-41 heading into the fourth period.
Senior guard
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) ignited a quick LU run at the beginning of the final period building back the lead to double figures. Senior guard
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) made two free throws that pushed the advantage to ten (51-41) with 9:04 left to play. Clark went on to score nine fourth quarter points and went 5-for-5 from the charity stripe.
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) scored seven points in the quarter as the Lady Lions defeated Cheyney for the fifth time in a row, 65-53.
The Lady Lions offense recorded a season-high 16 assists on 25 made field goals against the Lady Wolves led by senior
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS)'s six.
LenNee Kimbell (Springdale, MD/Howard Community College) had five assists and
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) pitched in with three assists as LU outshot Cheyney 38% to 28%.

LenNee Kimbell (Springdale, MD/Howard Community College) also made a career-high 4-of-6 attempts from the free throw line.
Teira Pendleton (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) finished with 12 points on 6-of-11 made shots from the field and grabbed eight rebounds.
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) also had 12 points and made LU's only three pointers of the game. Senior center
Mieana Gaines (Lincoln Park, MI/Southfield University Academy) led the bench scoring with seven points and sophomore forward
Vivevca Nwagbaraocha (Milwaukee, WI/Pius XI HS) had six points in her first collegiate start.
The Lady Lions improve to 4-2 while Cheyney drops to 0-5. Lincoln travels to Washington D.C. this weekend on Saturday, December 5
th for a 2 p.m. matchup against the District of Columbia.
