RALEIGH, N.C.-The Lady Lions defense blocked a season-best five shots and held the Lady Falcons to 27% (17-61) shooting from the field in a 64-56 road victory against St. Augustine's on Saturday, January 10
th at Emery Gymnasium.

Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) scored 11 early points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from field in the first half of play. Saunders carried the Lady Lions bench that outscored the Lady Falcons 15-6. Lincoln shot the ball well from the field in the first half making 11-of-27 attempts (40%) but only got to the free-throw line on four occasions. St. Aug's shot 85% (12-of-24) from the charity stripe but struggled from the field on 29% (9-31). The lead changed six times and was tied five times in the first half as the Lady Lions trailed 31-29 at halftime.
Lincoln's defense continued to dominate holding St. Aug's to 26% (8-30) shooting from the field in the final half of play. Junior
LenNee Kimbell (PG County, MD/Howard Community College)'s three-pointer gave the Lady Lions a 36-35 advantage at the 15:08 mark. Lincoln outscored St. Aug's 35-25 in the second half led by
Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS)'s seven points. Senior
Courtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) and
Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) each added six points in the second half rally.
After the Lady Falcons tied the game at 56-56 with 3:29 remaining, the Lady Lions used an 8-0 run to close out the game.

Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) led the starters with 13 points and
Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) scored 10 points while collecting a career-high eight rebounds. Junior
Mieana Gaines (Lincoln Park, MI/Southfield University Academy) dished out a career-high three assists and
Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) scored seven points.
Lincoln moves to 3-1 in CIAA play and 11-3 overall. St. Augustine's drops to 2-2 in CIAA play and 8-5 overall. The Lady Lions remain on the road for their third out of four consecutive CIAA road games against the defending CIAA Champions Shaw University on Monday, Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Spaul Gymnasium in Raleigh, NC.
