Lincoln edges Elizabeth City State in CIAA action

Lincoln got back into the win column with a 4-3 win over Elizabeth City State

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. –
The Lincoln University women's tennis team got back into the win column on Saturday as the Lady Lions edged Elizabeth City State, 4-3, in a CIAA Northern Division battle at the Lincoln University Tennis Complex.
 
Lincoln (3-9 overall, 3-5 CIAA) went 1-1 in doubles action, picking up an 8-0 victory by Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) and Urszula Koczkodaj (Szczecin, Poland/) at No. 2 doubles. The Lady Lions were 3-2 in singles play to get the win.
 
Hendricks, playing at No. 3 singles, defeated Michelle Thomas, 8-2, and Koczkodaj beat Tyra Spell, 8-0. Tyisha Masey gave the Lady Lions a 4-3 win with an 8-1 victory over Shamika Henderson at No. 5 singles.
 
Lincoln returns to action with an 11 a.m., CIAA Northern Division match against Chowan University on Sunday, March 24 at the Lincoln University Tennis Complex.
