Pam’s Double-Double Comes Up Short Against Lady Golden Bulls, 61-53

Box Score Charlotte, NC – Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) had a career night with 21 total rebounds, but the Lady Lions (6-4, 0-1 CIAA) fell 61-53 to Johnson C. Smith University (5-4, 1-0 CIAA) in their CIAA opener on the road on Wednesday, December 18. Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS), Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute), and Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) all had 12 points each for the Lady Lions. Pam recorded her second double-double of the season against JCSU.

Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) sparked the Lions in the opening half with 10 rebounds. Pam grabbed four offensive rebounds and six defensive boards. Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) carried the offense with seven points on 3-4 shooting attempts from the field. The Lady Lions defense held the Golden Bulls to 32% shooting in the first half but trailed JCSU 27-24 at halftime.

Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) and Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) paced the Lions in the second half with eight points each. In addition to their scoring, Clark had four steals and knocked down two three-pointers and Pam added 11 rebounds. JCSU went to the free-throw line in the second half 14 times and converted on 11 attempts. Lincoln struggled from the charity stripe going 3-12 in the final 20 minutes.

Overall, the Lady Lions shot 33% from the free-throw line while JCSU made 16-of-22 attempts. Lincoln won the battle in the paint with 54 total rebounds. Zephrah Pam (Syracuse, NY/Monroe CC) finished with 10 offensive and 11 defensive rebounds finishing with a career-high. Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) recorded four assists and Lisa Saunders (Hampton, VA/Hampton HS) added three assists. Amani Clark (Middletown, DE/Appoquinimink HS) also had a career-high five steals and Courtney Smith (Milwaukee, WI/Nicolet HS) had three steals.
