Shanna King Paces Lions Volleyball With 22 Assists Against Virginia Union

Box Score Lincoln University, PA – Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) had a game-high 22 assists pacing the Lions, but the Lincoln University fell to Virginia Union 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 19-25, 17-25) on Monday, October 21 on their annual Dig Pink Volleyball match.

Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) and Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS) led the defense with 17 digs against Virginia Union. Cynthia Johnson (Randallstown, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) also had a team-high nine kills, with two service aces, and a solo block to lead the Lions.

Shanna King (Newark, NJ/University High School) recorded 22 assists for the Lions and added five digs.

Briana McKellery (Odenton, MD/Arundel HS) and Jillian Lee (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Poly Institute) both had seven kills while Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) and Toni Smith (New Castle, DE/William Penn HS) each had three kills for the Lincoln University.

The Lions had eight service aces led by Sydney Cook (Portland, OR/Cleveland HS)'s four. Kyra Orton (Detroit, MI/Renaissance HS) added two aces and ten digs pitching in defensively.

The women's volleyball team at The Lincoln University falls to 2-13 overall. In their next match, the Lions will host Cheyney University on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 p.m.
