Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS) recorded a season-high 10 receptions for 106 yards with two touchdowns in a 56-14 defeat for The Lincoln University against Elizabeth City State on Saturday, October 19.
The Lions tallied 203 total yards of offense with 191 yards through the air against the Vikings. Elizabeth City State had 585 yards of total offense and scored eight touchdowns.
After the Vikings extended their lead to 14-0 with six minutes remaining in the first quarter, Lincoln's
Lorenzo Adams (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington HS) returned the ensuing kickoff for 52-yards. The Vikings were flagged with a penalty on the return giving Lincoln great field position starting their drive on the ECSU 27 yard line.
Quarterback
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) completed four passes to three different receivers and found the end zone for a five-yard touchdown catch by
Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS). The Lions used 13 plays for 27 yards cutting into the Vikings lead 14-7 with 2:40 remaining in the first quarter. Then, Elizabeth City scored two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter breaking out to a 28-7 at the half.
Lincoln could not gather any offensive yardage in the third quarter and was forced to punt on all four possessions. The Lions found themselves trailing early in the fourth quarter 49-7. They inserted quarterback Khari Nguzi for a change of pace and on his second drive, Nguzi led the offense to their second touchdown drive of the game.
On first down from the ECSU 36-yard line, Khari Nguzi broke out for a huge 15-yard rush moving the Lions into scoring territory. The Lions continued to use the ground game with a nine-yard rush by
Steven Gilliam (Bowie, MD/Bowie HS) and capped the drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Nguzi to Jordan.
Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS) caught his second touchdown of the game and after a made extra-point by
Kyle Jaski (Escondido, Calif./Kenwood HS), the Lions were down 49-14.
Elizabeth City State sealed the victory with their fourth rushing touchdown with 5:23 left in the fourth quarter and won the game 56-14.
Defensively,
Brion Robinson (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook HS) and
Dawan Marzett (Los Angeles, CA/Westchester HS) led the attack with nine total tackles each against the Vikings. Robinson had seven solo with two assisted tackles while Marzett had all solo tackles.
Gavin Lampkin (Baltimore, Md./W.E.B. Dubois HS) added eight tackles and five other Lions had three each.
Christopher Howard (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson HS) and
Stephon Ford (Warren, Ohio/Harding HS) each recorded a sack against the ECSU offense.
Kicker/punter
Kyle Jaski (Escondido, Calif./Kenwood HS) had eight punts for 337 total yards. He averaged 42.1 yards per punt and had a long of 48-yards. Return specialist
Lorenzo Adams (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington HS) had 108 all-purpose yards. He gathered 83 yards on kick return and had 25 on punt return.
Wide receiver
Akeem Jordan (Washington, DC/Carroll HS) finished with a season-best 10 receptions for 106 yards. He scored two touchdowns from five and 17-yards out against the Vikings.
Anthony Green (Chester, PA/Upper Darby HS) had three catches for 52 yards and
Kenny Faulcon (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen HS) also had three catched for 20 yards.
Lincoln used two quarterbacks against the Vikings.
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) completed 19 of 33 pass attempts for 136 yards while Khari Nguzi completed two of five pass attempts for 55 yards. Both quarterbacks threw touchdown passes to

Khari Nguzi led the rushing attack with 22 yards on six attempts.
