Women’s Soccer Extends Win Streak to Four, With 3-1 Victory Over Chowan

Box Score Lincoln University, PA - The Lincoln University women's soccer team extended their winning streak to four games with a 3-1 victory over Chowan on Sunday, October 13. Lincoln's Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) scored a goal and assisted on two other goals in the win.
 
The Lions scored two early goals and kept the Hawks shutout throughout the first half with a strong defensive presence on the back line. Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) set Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) up with a lovely pass in the 13th minute for the game's first goal of the afternoon.
 
Lincoln extended their advantage to 2-0 after a corner kick by Haley Hendricks (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) was headed to the back net by Emily Woodruff (San Diego, CA/Madison HS) in the 24th minute. Hendricks continued her active play with a goal of her own in the 48th minute off a Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) assist giving the Lions a 3-0 lead. The Hawks responded three minutes later with a goal in the 51st minute, but Lincoln's defense held on to a 3-1 lead for their fourth consecutive victory.
 
Goal keeper Chloe Grice (Lancashire, UK/Runshaw HS) earned the victory in front of the net with four saves. The Lions dominated possession and won he shooting battle 27-6 in forcing most of the action on the Hawks defensive side of the field.
 
Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) was the most aggressive player this afternoon with eight shots, while Christian Harris (Rochester, NY/The Aquinas Institute) finished with six.
