McIntosh scores 16 as Lady Lions fall at Saint Augustine's

Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. – It was another big afternoon for Tahlar McIntosh (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Alvernia HS) as the senior forward poured in 16 points, but it wasn't enough to stop Saint Augustine's as the Lady Lions fell, 67-53, on Saturday in a CIAA contest at Emery Gymnasium.
 
McIntosh reached double figures for the ninth straight game as she led Lincoln with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot. Alaysia Washington (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) had 10 points as the Lady Lions were 16-of-59 shooting for 27 percent.
 
Lincoln (6-9 overall, 2-3 CIAA) fell behind early after a strong first half by Saint Augustine's as the Lady Lions trailed, 29-11, with 2:36 remaining. However, Lincoln used a 7-2 run during the final two minutes to close the gap to 31-18 entering the break.
 
The Lady Lions, who used an 11-0 run, began the second half strong and cut the deficit to 31-29 after a Cynthia Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) layup with 13:26 remaining. The Lady Falcons (7-7, 3-2) responded with a 15-4 run, capped by a pair of free throws by Regime McCombs to give Saint Augustine's a 46-33 advantage as Lincoln couldn't recover during the final seven minutes.
 
McCombs led all scores with 24 points on 6-of-15 shooting and 8-of-10 from the foul line as the Lady Falcons shot 29 percent (17-of-58).
