O'Brien scores two goals in loss

Lady Lions drop opener to Concordia

OXFORD, Pa. — Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) gave the Lincoln University women's soccer team an early lead Saturday against Concordia University of New York, but the Clippers rallied with eight second-half goals to knock off the Lady Lions, 8-2, at Oxford High School.
Thibeau's goal in the 10th minute quickly gave Lincoln (0-1) the lead and the Lady Lions rode that advantage into the break.
However, the Clippers (1-1) erased that deficit with goals by three goals by Oumou Toure, Olivierre Iyesha, Susan Valencia, Francesca Lombardo, Bridgette McCakka and Nicole Brochero.
O'Brien scored her second collegiate goal in the 73rd minute.
Sima Sinforosa recorded nine saves, while Jessica Nanan had two for Concordia.
Lincoln looks to break into the win column 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9 against Delaware State in Dover, Del.
