Bears knock off Lady Lions

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — The Lincoln University women's soccer team remained on the road Saturday and were downed by New York Tech, 8-1.
The Bears (4-2-0) raced out to a 7-0 lead with seven first-half goals. The Lady Lions (0-3-1) got a Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) unassisted goal in the 57th minute to trim the margin to 7-1, but New York Tech put the game away in the 66th minute with a goal.
Sima Sinforosa had five saves for Lincoln.
New York Tech out-shot Lincoln, 29-2, and held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lady Lions return to action 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22 in Salem, W.Va., against Salem International University.
