LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. (February 12, 2011) — Lincoln University celebrated DeJuana Mosely's 1000th-career point Saturday night at Manuel Rivero Hall. Presented with balloons and accompanied by her coach, Lincoln praised Mosley for her outstanding athletics career before the start of the woman's basketball game versus Bowie State University.
Mosley would not disappoint, adding to her total with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds, but none of this was enough to defeat the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Lions played aggressively but struggled with the strong defense of the Lady Bulldogs, allowing Bowie State to win the game 80-46. LU shot just 12.3 percent in the first half and 21 percent for the game.
Brittney Waters (Capitol Heights, Md./Charles H. Flowers) led LU with 13 points behind 4-of-20 shooting. Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS) made two of eight shots from the floor but finished with 12 points thanks to her tremendous free-throw shooting, a 7-of-8 effort.
Going into halftime, the Lady Lions trailed behind 43-10, but came out swinging, quickly adding to the margin and going up by as many as 43 points. The Lady Lions did muster a rally, getting as close as 71-41 with 3:30 left.
The Lady Bulldogs had three players in double figures including Teshauna Robinson with a game-high 15 points. BSU outrebounded LU, 51-34.
