Lucas, DuBose pace Lady Lions in loss

WILBERFORCE, OhioCourtney Lucas (Washington, DC/Friendship Collegiate Academy) and Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside HS) each scored 11 points, but it wasn't enough as the Lincoln University women's basketball team fell to Central State, 74-62, on Friday night.
 
The Lady Lions (4-5) led, 38-35, at the break on 16-of-36 shooting, but were 10-of-34 in the second half and finished the game going 26-of-70 for 37 percent.
 
Iniquia Snell paced Central State (7-5) with 22 points on 10-of-19 from the field to lead all scorers. Tajha Walker added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Laura Longmire had 13 points and seven boards. Tanija Beasley pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and finished with seven points as the Lady Marauders were 29-of-65 from the floor for 45 percent, including shooting 62 percent (18-of-29) in the second half.
 
Lincoln returns to action 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 30 in Kutztown, Pa., against Kutztown University to conclude its 2011 portion of the schedule.
