OXFORD, Pa.  — Jessica Baynton scored a pair of first-half goals to lead the Salem International women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Lincoln on Saturday afternoon during Senior Day at Oxford High School.
 
The Tigers opened the scoring in the 16^th minute as Baynton scored from just outside the penalty area to give Salem International a 1-0 lead. Just a minute later, SIU made it 2-0 as Vanessa Jones fired a shot that banged off the post and into the goal to give the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.
 
In the 36^th minute, Baynton added her scored goal off a direct kick from about 25 yards out to give Salem International a 3-0 lead.
 
However, Tara O'Brien (Twickenham London, UK/St. Mark's Catholic School) answered with a goal in the 42^nd minute to cut the deficit to 3-1.
 
Salem International out-shot Lincoln 10-5 in the first half, but the Lady Lions dominated the second half, 9-2, but couldn't get the ball into the back of the net.
 
Sima Sinforosa finished with five saves for Lincoln (1-11-1), while Whitney Brydge had three for the Tigers.
 
The Lady Lions conclude the season 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 24 in Dover, Del., against Wesley College.
