Lincoln upended by Bloomfield

OXFORD, Pa.  — The Lincoln University women's soccer team surrendered a pair of quick goals and couldn't recover as the Lady Lions fell to Bloomfield, 8-0, on Saturday at Oxford High School.
 
The Lady Deacons raced out to a 3-0 lead within the first 10 minutes on goals by Jocelyn Prescott, Christine Rutherford and Katie Reale. Bloomfield added to the lead with a pair of goals by Rutherford and Stephany Cunha to take a 5-0 lead into the break.
 
Two goals by Rutherford and Mikie Bradley highlighted the scoring for the Lady Deacons in the second half.
 
Sima Sinforosa finished with seven saves for the Lady Lions (0-8-1), while Katrina Guevara and Robyn Burton each had two saves for Bloomfield.
 
Lincoln returns to action 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9 in Murfressboro, N.C., against Chowan.
