Dubose 16-straight not enough vs. ECSU

Box Score

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa.  —
Nineteen points —including 16 in a row — by Sharay Dubose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) and 13 by DeJuana Mosely (Chester, Pa./Chester) was not enough to help the Lincoln University Lady Lions, losing to Elizabeth City State University, 64-46.

The first half of the game got off to a slow start for the Lady Lions who trailed behind the Lady Vikings 10-9 with 11:00 remaining in the first period. Mosely gave Lincoln its first lead Lincoln at 12-10 when midway through the first period.

Elizabeth City State's Shaquella Johnson tied the game up 15-15 with 7:27 on the clock but the score wouldn't stay tied for long when Lincoln University's Dubose made two free throws bringing the game to 17-15 with 5:21 on the clock.

Lincoln University wasn't able to keep the lead after going up 21-17, however, entering the locker room for halftime down 29-21.

Dubose was the prized possession for Lincoln University scoring 16 straight points for the Lady Lions to begin the second half.  Tahlar McIntosh (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Alvernia HS) (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Alvernia) ended the “Ray-Ray Show” with two free throws with 6:55 left in the game.

In that span, though, ECSU's lead continued to grow as large as 20. LU would creep within 50-35, but that would be the closest Lincoln would get to matching Elizabeth City State.

LU travels to Virginia Union on Monday and Bowie State on Tuesday before returning home for back-to-back doubleheaders Thursday and Friday at Manuel Rivero Hall to conclude the season. Both women's games begin at 5:30 p.m. and can be streamed live at BrandywineRadio.com.
