Lady Lions fall in finale to Goldey-Beacom College

WILMINGTON, Del. —
The Lady Lions concluded their season with an 8-0 loss to Goldey-Beacom College Friday afternoon at Nancy Churchman-Swain Field.

The Lincoln women allowed just one goal in the second half after being under siege most of the game's first 45 minutes.

The Lightning struck 2:15 in when a cross from Karin Ericksson successfully found the foot of Kelly Williams for the first of her four goals on the afternoon.

LU was not without opportunities. Seniors Charlise Cunningham (Long Island, NY/Bayshore) and Joy Floyd (Logan Twp., NJ/Kingsway Regional), playing their last collegiate game, had two shots and one shot on goal, respectively. Keisha Nsiah-Ababio also had a shot stopped at the line.

Freshman goalkeeper Isata Panda withstood 30 shots and came away with nine saves, tying a career high.

With the loss, the Lady Lions finish 2010 at 1-14 while Goldey-Beacom improved 2-12-1.
