TAKOMA PARK, Md. — After a difficult first half, Lincoln stepped up in the second half in Sunday's women's soccer match with Washington Adventist University. Taking eight out of their 12 shots after the intermission, the Lady Lions offense was not enough to overtake the Lady Shock, losing, 7-0.
Shira Miller (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt HS), coming off a two-goal game against Salem International in a 4-1 LU win, talied five of the 12 shots, followed by Charlise Cunnigham with 4 shots. Kendra Souffrant and
Mariah Liberty (Waterbury, Vt./Harwood Union HS) each added a shot respectively. Isata Panda made four saves.
LU started well, but WAU's Azizah Sy would score 17:58 into the game to establish control. The Lady Shock would go up 3-0 by halftime, which the Lady Lions could not recover from despite the strong effort in the second half.
