Lady Panthers win rematch

Box Score

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — After beating St. Paul's College on Monday night, the Lady Lions' attempt to win back-to-back games for the first time this season was unsuccessful.

On Tuesday night in Manuel Rivero Hall, the Lincoln University Lady Lions fell to the Virginia Union Lady Panthers (7-13) 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 20-25).

The Lady Panthers took control from the first serve.  Amassing early leads in each of the three games, VUU was able to build comfortable leads, which the Lady Lions would claw back from only to fall short in the comeback bid.

LU junior Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) had 8 assists and 6 kills through the first two games and would end the match with 11 assists and 8 kills in total. Sophomores Nekia Morris (San Bernardino, Calif./San Gorgino)and Charity Hart (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) would add a combined 12 kills as well.  Sophomore Erika Bell (Owing Mills, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) led the team in digs with five.

Virginia Union came into this match ready and focused. With the 3-1 loss that LU had given them earlier in the season, the Lady Panthers entered the gym ready for revenge and took advantage with positioning for the upcoming CIAA Tournament at stake.

LU (3-20) has minimal time to dwell on this loss with  a match against Virginia State University on Friday night at Manuel Rivero Hall at 6 p.m.
