MURFREESBORO, N.C. — Lincoln University played host school Chowan University Saturday afternoon, and the Lady Lions showed the rust of an 11-day layoff.

Having not played since Sept. 15 against Philadelphia, Lincoln fell 10-0 to Chowan. Defensively, the Cougars held for the first 25 minutes until Meredith McCarthy snuck a shot past Lincoln goaltender Brittany Johnson (Glassboro, NJ/Glassboro) (Glassboro, N.J.). McCarthy found mesh three minutes later.  Ashley Bradford scored Chowan's third, fifth and sixth goals for the hat trick.

Johnson recorded 13 saves in 90 minutes. Stephanie Anderson (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area HS) (Coatesville, Pa.) had three shots, including a shot on goal to lead the Lincoln attack.

Lincoln stays in Murfreesboro to play Washington Adventist Sunday afternoon, who the Lady Lions beat 3-1 on August 30 at Lions Field.
