Lynsey Grace named new softball coach

Chris Weeden

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — Lincoln University is pleased to announce Lynsey Grace as the softball coach.

“I am very thankful as well as blessed for having the opportunity to coach here at Lincoln University,” Grace said. “I look forward to enlightening this group of student-athletes to play at the next level.”

Grace comes to the Lady Lions by way of Temple, where she was a graduate assistant for two seasons. Her essential job functions included coaching the outfielders and maintaining alumni relations.

Prior to her graduate assistantship, she played professionally for the Philadelphia Force of the National Professional Fastpitch League in 2006 and was drafted by the Harlem Diamonds in 2005 following a highly decorated career at Temple.

A two-time All-Atlantic 10 selection, she was the Lady Owls' captain in 2004 as Temple won the conference and advanced to NCAA Regional play.

“She has a passion for the game, so she'll be a good role model for her players,” said Temple coach Joe DiPietro. “She'll get it done, because she has that kind of personality. Without question, she'll be a huge plus not just to the softball program but the University.”

Grace will also be an assistant sports information director at Lincoln University where she will assist in the department's day-to-day operations.

“Lynsey is a tremendous addition to our staff,” said Lincoln athletic director Dianthia Ford-Kee. “Her energy is infectious, and we're very confident that she can bring the program in the direction it needs to go as we transition from NCAA Division III to Division II.”

A Massachusetts native, Grace holds two degrees from Temple. In 2009, she earned a master's of sports administration in 2009 and she has a B.S. in sport and recreation management in 2005.
