Green's career scoring afternoon can't lift Lincoln past Millersville

WEST CHESTER, PA. (December 6, 2008) -- Lincoln University of Pennsylvania senior forward Angelle Green (Yeadon, PA/Penn Wood) scored a career-high 15 points during a 79-49 defeat to undefeated Millersville University Saturday night in the West Chester University Alumni Classic at Hollinger Fieldhouse. Green was one of three Lady Lions to hit double figures. Green made 6-for-10 shots from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers. Freshman guard Sharay DuBose recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. DuBose extended her double figure scoring streak to nine consecutive games. Senior forward Tanina Cook (Landover, MD/Charles H. Flowers) finished with 12 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Chanelle Harris (Yeadon, PA/Penn Wood) added seven assists and three steals.

Lincoln trailed, 35-21, at intermission and pulled to within nine points early in the second half. The Lady Lions did a good job of sharing the ball, finishing with 14 assists on their 19 baskets. The Lincoln women's basketball team just completed an arduous stretch against four opponents, whose combined record is 19-2.

Millersville (6-0) received had four players reach double figures with Gladine St. Julien leading the way with 15 points. Jenna Craig collected a double-double (13 points, 13 rebounds) for the Maurauders, who received 14 votes in the latest ESPN/USA Today Division II Top 25 Women's Basketball poll.
