The Male Athlete of the Year Award went to a senior distance runner on the men's cross country/track and field team, Kyle Edwards. Kyle competes in three seasons for The Lincoln University. During the fall he finished second overall at the 2014 CIAA Cross Country Championships earning All-CIAA honors. In the winter at the 2015 CIAA Indoor Championships Kyle was the highest individual scorer for the team placing second in the 800m event, third in the 1 mile run, sixth in the 5000m run, and ran a leg on the third place 4x400m relay team that earned a first ever podium finish for LU. His performances earned him All-CIAA honors in both the 800m and 1 mile run. At the 2015 CIAA Outdoor Championships he came second in both the 800m and 1500m events while placing third in the 5000m run.
