Junior Matthew Huckabee set a new school record in the men’s shot put event with a mark of 16.83m (55’ 2.75”) at the 2014 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. In consecutive seasons, Huckabee placed first in the shot put at the CIAA Indoor Championships while adding ten points to the men’s overall team score. In all of Matthew’s throws he passed the 16.60 mark dominating the field of competition. On his third attempt, Huckabee had his best collegiate throw of 16.83m improving his rankings for the upcoming NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.
